I am excited about running my first marathon on May 3. It is located in Belle Haven Park, Virginia, just outside of Washington D. C. It is a very small marathon. Last year only 79 people ran the marathon and 376 people ran the half marathon. My goal is to run the 26.2 miles in under 4 hours. That averages to about a 9 minute mile. I printed out a training schedule and have done my best to follow that. Though for the sake of time, I must say I have not done all the runs that I was supposed to do. There are 2 verses in the Bible that come to mind about running that are very inspiring. 1 Corinthians 9:24 says "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize." The second verse is one that most people know found in Isaiah 40:31. It says, "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

That's really exciting! I hope it goes well for you.
Wow. I wish I could be there to see your exhausted elated fullfilled face when you are done. I think I might be a little better fit to hike the adirondacks when I'm finished here! Hope to see you again soon.
so, how did it go?
