On April 1, I ran my 3rd marathon and the second running of Knoxville. I came in at an official time of 3:04:17. I finished 13th overall, second in my age group, and qualified for Boston. The weather was amazing, being cool and foggy most of the race. My overall pace was a 7 minute 2 second mile. The goal was to finish under 3 hours and at least by 3:05 to BQ. I did have some issues with muscles tightening up, so that was not the case, I know I could have finished sooner. Overall I am happy with my it and I shaved 5 minutes off from last year. Another difference between the years is that this year there were 14 or 15 people from Southern that ran the half or full marathon compared to not knowing of any last year. Also my parents were there in the stadium to see me finish and congratulate me.

"If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run." -John Bingham
