2009 Cherokee Rodeo Pickup Race

Going through old pictures in the Cherokee database and found these. Had to laugh. 

Announcer: "Next up for the Adventure/Diabetic Awareness Camp Rodeo, is the Pick Up Race. For this Pick Up Race event we have Alex & Andrew versus Laury &  Steven. How this event will work is there are two people and one horse. The first person will start out riding a horse at one end of the arena, ride down to pick up his partner at the other end of the arena, and then ride double back together to the starting point in the arena. The team with the fastest time to complete the event wins."

"And there's Alex, starting out hot at a canter riding the horse named Queenie!"

"Alex slows Queenie down to a trot, extends his arm and picks up Andrew."

"Andrew is now on the back of Queenie riding double with Alex. . ."

". . .and they are rounding the corner. . ."

". . .picking up speed. . ."

". . .up to a canter, and now into a gallop with Andrew hanging on the back, and across the line in good time!"

"Next up, it it's Laury & Steven's turn. Let's see if they can beat Alex & Andrew's time."

"They decide to stick with the horse Queenie, instead of Laury's own personal beloved horse Taylerd."

"And Laury takes off, traveling to the other end of the arena the opposite side being that Laury is left handed."

"Laury reaches out his hand to Steven. . ."

". . .as Steven attempts to get on."

"And he is still trying to get on."

"And Steven is up, just trying to get balanced now."

"And he is going off the other side!"

"And He's pulling Laury down with Him!"

"Laury grabs and rights the saddle to stay on as Steven is off the horse! How bout we give them another shot folks?"

"And Laury takes off to the other side of the arena for second time."

"They connect arms. . ."

". . .as Steven attempts to get on again."

"He is having some difficulty again"

"And Steven is on the very back of the horse as they start to take off to the other end."

"But Queenie doesn't like someone on her very back!"

"And She goes RODEO!. . ."

". . .rearing her back legs up in the air!"

"Steven is trying to hang on!"

"And He bounces up in the air. . ."

". . .and off!! Queenie has bucked off Steven!!! And Steven will safely walk on his own two feet back across the line. Alex and Andrew will win by default after Laury and Steven fail to complete the pick up race. I guess a little practice goes a long way!"
