"Those who claim to know the truth and understand the great work to be done for this time are to consecrate themselves to God, soul, body, and spirit. In heart, in dress, in language, in every respect they are to be separate from the fashions and practices of the world. They are to be a peculiar and holy people. It is not their dress that makes them peculiar, but because they are peculiar and holy people, they cannot carry the marks of likeness to the world."
Fundamentals of Christian Education p.311
"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world - the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does - comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."
1 John 2:15-17

this reminds me of a sermon I was listing to. The preacher said, "I just think Christian's are good looking! when you look at someone who is not a Christian, to be blunt look ugly. but he went to explain, He said simple true Christians have a presence glowing about them. They don't have the be-raggled, lost broken look on their faces. It wasn't the clothes/make-up/jewelry that drew his attention, but the Joy shining from their faces. :)
